You nailed it. I taught a class at Georgetown last night where we discussed this. I concluded that allowing Fetterman to debate was malpractice, and the spouse was the likely culprit. Spouses are the most influential people in any campaign.

She is just a narcissist who has lost sight of her husband’s best interests.

mrs. Fettermen lied to the people. She said he was fine,he’s not. She was asking for “consequences “ when a reporter said he had problems. The Fettermen team is not trustworthy.

Indeed she has, and has hidden her husband’s severe disability until she no longer could. A huge disservice to Pennsylvanians

Why watch a charade?

"And I know the friendly folk at the Philadelphia Inquirer attempted to gaslight the rest of the state into believing John hit a double when he struck out worse than Casey"

And here I thought Oz would be the ONLY Republican that rag would endorse. 🙄

Great column on the debate and Yoko's insistence that her husband is fine. The naysayers who are criticizing your column obviously have not had a stroke or live with someone who has had a stroke. Fetterman is clearly still in the aphasia stage. Not sure what the Democrats' endgame is, are they pushing an obviously sick man in the hope he can't serve and has to be replaced with a stark raving mad socialist by a Democratic governor? Having AFIB myself and family members who are stroke survivors I can assure your naysayers that it's no fun. Anyone who's ever had a stroke is at a great risk for another stroke even with a blood-thinner, defibrillator or pacemaker. It bothers me greatly that Fetterman totally ignored his doctors' recommendations several years ago regarding meds and treatment for his AFIB and heart failure. If he couldn't be bothered taking care of his own health for the sake of his family will he really look after the interests of Pennsylvanians? Sorry, not being mean, I don't think the U.S. Senate should be used as or confused with a rehabilitation center.

This is a new one. Stalking, harassing and targeting a politician's wife and calling her "indecent" and a bad mother because you disagree with her husband's politics. You didn't "cry" during the debate. You were all over social media taking bizarre selfies in front of the TV, laughing at his stroke, mocking his symptoms, mocking his children and berating his wife.

You must be so proud of yourself. Mocking someone's disability, berating his wife for his disability, and mocking his children. You don't make Oz look better. You're not hurting John Fetterman. You make yourself look like a disturbed crazy woman. A child would know better than to act like you.

I already voted for Senator Fetterman and Governor Shapiro. 😉 You should stay off of social media. Acting like a disturbed crazy woman over politics is not a good look for you. I wish you well.

Thank you my friend, Brenda is either Gisele in disguise or one of the Pennsylvania women who have blue waves in their Twitter profiles who are usually annoying and I can jump over them, but she persists in stalking me. Oh well, I can mute her

Relax. Ms. Flowers has a right to her opinion. I doubt she is lying about crying. She has dedicated her life to helping people in worse situations than Fetterman. Many people are permanently disabled and don’t try to use it to their advantage.

She mocked John Fetterman's young children on Twitter. People on social media told her to leave his children out of her attacks. She replied that Fetterman's children are fair game for her to attack.

Oh Brenda honey, the Fetty crowd is out in full force. You really are quite the little stalker. Fetty posted photos of his kids, and I commented on them. Fetty has mocked women who believe that having an abortion is murder, has mocked my friend whose father was murdered by a man he wanted to parole from prison, and regularly mocks those who disagree with him. Go away troll

What a despicable POS Christine Flowers is! A jealous, vile, self-important mediocre writer with an opinion on anything that is none of her business. And she actually believes her own shit and thinks we think she is sincere! That is just bat shit CRAZY. Unfortunately, most psychiatrists don't/can't treat narcissists like Flowers and the best advice is to ignore and move on.

Absolutely brilliant, thought provoking and even touching essay, even if somewhat tongue in cheek. You have an uncanny mastery with the written word, Christine. I'm concerned that Mrs. Fettermen see's her husband as a ticket to power for herself, since many are assuming John will be unable to assume the duties of office, and the tasks will (somehow) fall to her.
